Job Description

The Quality In-Process Engineer ensures that manufacturing processes meet quality and compliance standards throughout production. This role involves real-time monitoring, defect analysis, root cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions in alignment with automotive industry standards like IATF 16949.


Key Responsibilities


* Monitor and analyze in-process quality performance across all manufacturing lines.

* Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and quality non-conformities.

* Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).

* Collaborate with production, maintenance, and design teams to ensure product quality.

* Ensure adherence to quality standards including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.

* Perform regular process audits and participate in Layered Process Audits (LPA).

* Maintain and update in-process inspection criteria, control plans, and FMEA.

* Support new product launches with process validation and quality planning.

* Train operators and inspectors on quality checks and procedures.

* Work closely with the customer quality team to resolve field complaints.


Requirements


Education


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.


Experience


3-5 years of experience in in-process or manufacturing quality in the automotive industry.


Technical Skills


Strong knowledge of core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC.

Proficient in using measuring instruments and quality analysis software.

Familiar with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (preferred).


Soft Skills


Analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
